Moving GovPrint workstations to Cirros client 1.4

For GovPrint organisations moving workstations to Cirros client 1.4.

Workstations do not update to 1.4 automatically. For GovPrint organisations, each move to 1.4 needs agreement from the Government Property Agency (GPA) and goes through change control before any devices are updated.

Version 1.4 is only rolled out after GPA approval, so it will not appear on any workstation until your administrator assigns it to a channel.

Before you update

  1. Agreement for the update goes through the GPA change management process, including the Change Board, and an implementation plan, rollout schedule and back-out plan are agreed.
  2. Do not assign 1.4 to any release channel until GPA has confirmed approval and the change has been scheduled.

Once approved

Follow Updating workstations from the Dashboard in the Cirros client 1.4 release notes, setting the rollout to the schedule agreed through change control. The same release notes list what is new in 1.4 and the workstation requirements.

Every known issue in the 1.3 client is fixed in 1.4: see Cirros Windows client 1.3: known issues, all fixed in 1.4.
